Tuesdays With Shanti's Dad
Advice Column
He’s Wise. He’s my go-to guy.
Now, I share him with you.
This week: Shanti’s Dad shares wise-old-guy advice on “I should’ves”….
Looking back on my long, happy life, I’m pleased to report that I have few regrets.
However, those I do have are usually the “I should’ves.” These are the times when I was too timid to make changes or take risks urged by my intuition. Of course, I’ll never know how things would have turned out if I had reacted boldly in these situations, but that’s the point: I’ll never know. What if I had chosen challenge over comfort…action instead of complacency?
I’ve been fortunate to have experienced some great personal victories. All of them came because I refused to let fear of failure deter me from taking action.
My wise-old-guy advice is to make the leap. If you don’t reach the stars, you may still get to the moon. I believe that Fate has a plan for us. I also believe that, within that plan, we have the opportunity to make quality-of-life choices.
Go for it! I promise it will greatly reduce your “I should’ves.”
